The Clearing Light — Wye Valley
Light breaks through the canopy and briefly reshapes the woodland interior. Shafts of sun fall between the trunks and dissolve into the forest floor, turning leaf litter and moss into a field of shifting tones.
Photographed in the Wye Valley, the image records a transient interval rather than a fixed scene. The forest is dense and enclosed, yet for a moment it opens — the light creating depth, direction and quiet structure within the tangle of branches.
Nothing in the landscape has moved, yet the atmosphere changes completely. The photograph becomes less a view of woodland and more a record of perception: the instant when a familiar place feels newly revealed.
