The High Ridge

Rising towards the summit of Helvellyn, Striding Edge is one of the Lake District's most recognisable and exhilarating mountain ridges. This view captures the rugged spine of the ridge as it winds its way towards the higher ground, with steep slopes falling away on either side. Above, dramatic clouds gather across the fells, while occasional breaks in the sky allow sunlight to pick out the earthy greens and browns of the surrounding mountains.
