Sentinel of the Sea
Along the coastal path south of Aberdaron on the Llŷn Peninsula, the small island of Maen Gwenonwy sits quietly offshore, surrounded by the deep waters of the Irish Sea. From the rugged cliff edge, the view takes in the island's weathered rock, its covering of green grass and the gentle sweep of the distant coastline. In the foreground, patches of pink sea thrift bring a splash of colour to the wild coastal landscape.
There is something wonderfully timeless about this stretch of the Welsh coast. Shaped by the elements and largely untouched, it offers a sense of space, stillness and connection with the natural world. A place where the land meets the sea, and where it's easy to lose yourself in the view.
